How it works
It's easy!

Just pick a piece from the shelf. We have got loads to choose from. The price will be written on the item in felt tip (don’t worry this comes off in the kiln) and this is the total price you pay, which includes the item itself, studio fees, hand glazing and time in the kiln.

Take it back to your table, and one of our knowledgeable staff members will talk to you about your design and give you some tips on how to bring your design to life.

Everything you will need is on your table along with a numbered glazed colour menu to help you see what the paint looks like after its been hand glazed and fired.

Can’t think what you’d like to paint? Don’t worry we have lots of inspiration on our Instagram @spottypots and TikTok @spottypotsofstudley. There’s also plenty of completed items around the shop for you to view.
Don’t forget to order a delicious drink and a cake from the café to keep you going.

Once you are happy with your piece, we will take it away, allow it to dry fully, then further glaze your piece in clear glaze. Then we will pop it in one of our kilns for about 27 hours.

When you’ve finished painting, we will tell you when your pottery is ready to collect (between 7-14 days). We don’t contact you when it’s ready so just pop in to collect when it’s ready.
Please note that we can only keep your pottery for a maximum of 2 months, after which it will be donated to charity.
Can’t make it into the shop?
Then why not buy a voucher or a paint at home kit?
Our paint at home kits include everything you need to complete your piece at your pace, in the comfort of your own home.
Simply return the kit and your painted piece to us, and we will do all the rest for you.

Our customers do not need to have any incredible artistic talent, remember anyone can paint a spot. Our friendly and experienced team will be on hand to offer guidance and support if you need it.
