Spotty Pots
News

With school aged children, the return to work required flexibility and control, and becoming the boss seemed like the way to go. Pottery painting was an activity that both had previously experienced with their children, and the obvious enjoyment led them to consider the possibilities of combining efforts, skills and experience to run such a business. Much discussion followed, leading to market research and training courses. Once armed with new found knowledge of the business and industry, and improved skills and techniques in pottery painting, a business plan was created.

...... the mobile Paint on Pottery Experience, was formed by friends and now business partners Julie Sharp and Ann-marie Winterburn. Based in the village of Marnhull, Dorset, Julie and Ann-marie run the business with the help and support of their families.

Spotty Pots was officially launched at the Marnhull Fest in July 2007 and this very successful day brought lots of interest. From here the business has continued to establish in the areas of Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Sturminster, Yeovil, Blandford and Dorchester, though word has spread with bookings as far as Bristol, and enquiries from Liverpool !

Spotty Pots will for the time being remain essentially a mobile service thriving on the bubbly and friendly personalities of Julie and Ann-marie, and their proud customer service ethos that they consider paramount. The business is still young but already, behind the scenes, Julie and Ann-marie, along with the on-going family support, are looking at future development plans.

The venture was rapidly becoming a full family affair, with husbands Chris Sharp and Eddie Winterburn now involved in the planning and development of the company. Collectively the four partners gave rise to the catchy  Spotty Potsname and logo. The importance of a web site was quickly acknowledged and so www.spottypots.co.uk  was timed to come on line in time with the launch of the business.

With all the combined skills and experiences now called upon, it was time to open for business.
